What is a Supplement?

Supplement Vs. Deductible

Most drivers have a deductible, it is good to know up front what your deductible is; because this is the amount that YOU are solely responsible for upon finished repairs.

Think of a deductible like a co-pay. This is a fixed amount.

Supplemental amounts can vary in amount with each repair. The insurance and the insured can share responsibility for this payment.

What is an initial estimate?

When you come in for an estimate, this is your initial estimate. This includes all of the damage that we can see; our labor rates, and material costs. We send this estimate to your insurance/agent.

My Insurance gave me an Estimate..

Sometimes your insurance will send out someone to give their own appraisal of your vehicles damage. We still like to at least see the vehicle, so if possible drive that vehicle when dropping off that appraisal. This can also be used as an initial estimate.

What happens with the initial estimate?

After we send our estimate off to your insurance, more often than not they send us their own estimate in return. One that is usually lower than the initial. This can be for many reasons, they change the labor rates/ materials, use aftermarket parts, and subtract hours from the initial estimate.

When do you Write the Supplement?

The supplement is written and documented during each stage of the repair. Before we send it to your adjuster, we go over it a final time to make sure that everything is in order. We send all invoices and photos over to your insurance as well.
